“Tech-based jobs are quality jobs”
Using a $100,000 grant from Louisiana Economic Develop-ment, Louisiana Technology Council has initiated a survey of Greater New Orleans area workers’ technology skills. LED and LTC are urging area residents of all walks of life to complete the IT Skills Census and Survey before Sept. 15.
The five minute survey is available online at www.LAITCensus.com.
“The results of this survey will help us better understand the skill base we can offer technology-based companies and companies in general,” said LED Secretary Michael J. Olivier. “Our objective is to help generate jobs and investment for Louisiana.
Tech-based jobs are quality jobs — the kind we want in our state. The survey results will arm us to effectively market the region to technology-based companies and demonstrate that Louisiana has a quality workforce for business.”
“We call on everyone to complete this survey, from the IT director of a large corporation to the average student,” said LTC President Mark Lewis. “Please make your skills known, no matter how advanced or basic. Every person in this area should fill out the survey.”
Random winners for prizes, including three $500 gift certificates, will be drawn from among those who complete the survey. Data remains highly confidential and no personal information will be shared with anyone.
