2017 Industry Guide: IMTT personnel are committed to active involvement in the community

International-Matex Tank Terminals (IMTT) – St. Rose, located in St. Charles Parish, has been in operation since the 1960s.

Headquartered in New Orleans, IMTT operates 12 bulk liquid storage terminal facilities in North America handling petroleum products, vegetable oil, renewable fuels and various chemicals.  The company is currently the fourth largest provider of bulk liquid storage and handling services in the United States.

Bulk liquid storage terminals provide an essential link in the supply chain for major commodities such as refined petroleum products, basic and specialized chemicals and agricultural liquids.  In addition to renting storage tanks, IMTT generates revenue by offering ancillary services including product transfer (throughput), heating, and blending.

The IMTT – St. Rose facility comprises approximately 1,000 acres nestled between the Mississippi River and Interstate 10 and includes 220 tanks with an aggregate capacity of nearly 16 million barrels.  Tanks meet all emissions, spill control, and inspection compliance standards.  A fully equipped emergency response team is on-hand 24-hours and actively participates in the St. Charles Parish Mutual Aid program.

Positioned at mile 118.6 on the east bank of the Mississippi River, IMTT – St. Rose provides marine services to its customers via four deep water berths and 15 barge berths.  Rail transportation is provided via access to the Illinois Central/Canadian National System.  Additionally, truck loading and unloading facilities are located within the terminal and direct pipeline access is available with links to nearby refinery/petro-chemical complexes.

IMTT also offers environmental services through its affiliate, OMI Environmental Solutions, which consists of providing spill remediation, tank and pipeline cleaning and other marine and industrial services to IMTT’s terminals as well as to third party customers.

IMTT personnel are committed to active involvement in the community.  The company is represented on several local boards and organizations by many of the approximately 170 employees.

IMTT is a proud member of the River Parish Chamber of Commerce, St. Charles Parish United Way and other various associations.

Annually, the St. Rose terminal hosts an appreciation dinner for the area Volunteer Firefighters.  Community involvement includes partnerships with local schools and charities with many individuals donating their personal time to area causes.
