Claire Elizabeth Crutti and Daniel Charles Arnold

Claire Elizabeth Crutti and Daniel Charles Arnold were named the newest recipients of the Hahnville High School Class of 1957 Anniversary Scholarships during the HHS graduation ceremony held in the John A. Alario Center in Westwego.

These $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who will enter the Freshman Class at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  One $2,500 scholarship is for a student entering the educational field, to insure the development of teachers who will continue to promote the importance of education.  The other $2,500 scholarship is for a student entering the engineering field, to provide a basis for continual technical contributions from Hahnville High School graduates.  The two annual recipients will apply their awards to their freshman year at UL-L.  The scholarships are in recognition of the excellent preparation that Hahnville High School teachers, coaches and principals provided for the class of 1957, and in recognition of the 1957 classmates who shared in that educational experience.  These scholarships are awarded on an annual basis.  This year marks the 54th anniversary of the HHS Class of 1957.

Crutti graduated Magna Cum Laude and was on the Superintendent’s List and Principal’s List.  She was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She was selected as a Kick-Off Mentor for freshman students.  She was also selected to participate in Girl’s State.    She played soccer for four years on the Lady Tigers Soccer Team.  In her senior year she was named to the All-Academic Composite Soccer Team.  She was also a participant on the Cross Country Team for the past two years.

She is the daughter of Glen and Tammy Crutti of Luling.  Claire plans to attend the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and major in Education.

Arnold graduated Magna Cum Laude and was on the Superintendent’s List.  He was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society.  A three year member of the LEAP Engineering Club, he served as Design Captain this year.  Daniel played baseball for the Hahnville Tigers for all four years of high school. He was chosen to participate in Boy’s State.  An active contributor in the community, Daniel has volunteered his time at the St. Gertrude’s Catfish Festival, St. Joseph’s Altar, Green Light New Orleans and Hahnville Baseball Kiddie Camp.

He is the son of Thomas and Alaina Arnold of Des Allemands.  Daniel plans to attend University of Louisiana-Lafayette and major in Mechanical Engineering.
