United Way of St. Charles received a check from its School Backpack Program by local senior mortgage specialist Tasha Bourgeois, who also offered the organization use of her custom Team Tasha moving truck on an as-needed basis.
The program provides nutritious and easy-to-prepare food for hungry children in St. Charles Parish to take home on weekends and school vacations when other resources are not available. More than 500 children receive a backpack each week.
