United Way cook-off got pretty hot

Happiness is a bowl of gumbo or jambalaya, but ecstasy is having all you can eat.

This is the United Way Cook-off at the Norco Manufacturing Complex, which is a kick-off for the agency’s campaign and NMC’s entries for UW’s Battle For the Paddle.

This year’s jambalaya winners are:

• First place – Kast Iron Krooks: Jay Alleman, Lonnie Boudreaux, Wade Spears and Gerard Borne

• Tie – Second place – The Last Chance: Jody Borne, Bobby Dufresne, Mark Batiste and Mike Arcement.

• Tie – Second place – The Construction Guys: Joe Bob LeFleur, Kevin Massett, Brent Duhon and Doug Skarke.

• Third place – Three Phase: Danny Landry, Gordon Ortego and Joseph Tanner.

This year’s gumbo winners are:

• First place – Prestige Worldwide: David Marse, Ricky Bourgeois and Brent Torres.

• Second place – Break Time: Kenny Levert, Mike Duhe, Ben Vial and Keith Simon.

• Third place – Pot Lickers: Lyle Bourgeois, Ronnie Trosclair, Lee Clement and  Chad Raiford.
