TOWN TALK

with Colette Lottinger

It was cold, cold, cold, at United Way’s Victory Celebration Thursday night at Ormond Plantation, but the fire radiating from the good-hearted and generous people there helped to warm up the night.

Dynamic Denise Brodsky, executive director happily announced United Way collections to be $2.34 million dollars for the 2006-2007 drive.

Stanley Roy Dufrene (Dow Chemical), who is a board member of United Way couldn’t stop singing the praises of Ron Guillory (board member) who co-chaired the United Way Collection campaign with Snookie Faucheux. He commented that Guillory is a prince of a fellow who knows how to run the Valero plant. Although he really loves farming plants, thank goodness for his expertise in managing the chemical kinds of plants too. Because as Dufrene said, “Ron has brought Good Hope from No Hope to New Hope, and has been a good neighbor for our community.”

An attempt will be made to honor our past, look forward to the future and live fully in the present with a Celebrating Abundant Redemption mission talk. Fr. Bill Adams and Deacon Bill Warren with Helen Warren as coordinator will present the four nights of teaching at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis. The mission talk will be on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

If you’d like to go to the above teaching, Child Care will be available at the Church.

If you missed Mark Mallet last year…you certainly want to set a time to attend his concert this year. Mallet will be at the St. Mark’s Fr. Cote Centre at 10771 River Road in Ama on Tuesday, March 13 at 7 p.m. This will prove to be a captivating evening for the whole family with great music, faith-building insights, good clean humor .
