Supplies for Success draws more than 100 people

Attended by more than 100 mothers, fathers, grandparents and children, last Friday’s Supplied for Success event distributed school supplies.“This event is a wonderful way for our organization to give back to the patients who we care for all year long,” said Chenier Reynolds, 0perations assistant for Access Health Louisiana.

“The children really appreciate the school supplies and have a great time hanging out with our providers and staff,” Reynolds said.

She added, “We are thankful for the fantastic support from all of our sponsors this year including our gold level sponsor, Louisiana Healthcare Connections.”

The event was put on with the help of Health Louisiana (Medicaid) plans, with Louisiana Healthcare Connections being the gold level sponsor.

All children received school supplies including backpacks, folders, pencil case holders with sharpeners, high lighters, pencils, glue, erasers and crayons. At least 200 backpacks were given away.

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Michelle Babin and Dentist Dr. Michael Boudreaux were on hand greeting families and passing out school supplies to the children.

Kids had fun clowning around with Access Health’s social media cutouts taking pictures of themselves with their new backpacks and sending the pictures out on social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

The event is one of 10 Back to school events called “Supplies for Success” being put on by Access Health Louisiana.

AHL operates community health centers in 10 Louisiana parishes. For a list of upcoming “Supplies for Success” events, log onto accesshealthla.org or call (866) 530-6111.
