On Dec. 17, two local businesses combined forces to help bring cheer into the lives of some of the children of St. Charles Parish. They gave toys to those who might not otherwise find the “Season of Giving” quite so generous.
G. Smith Motorsports and St. Rose Travel Center held a Christmas party where kids were able to participate in crafts, face painting, and take pictures with St. Nick. A list of names were provided by local organizations that maintain information on those St. Charles residents who are in need.
The owners of the two businesses realized three years ago that they felt a personal responsibility to help bring joy into the lives of their neighbors. That is when they started their annual party for less fortunate children.
Over 200 children were invited to participate and over 130 attended, along with some of the owners of the businesses and a few of their staff who helped make the event a success.
