St. Charles Women’s Club raise $5,000 at charity auction

The St. Charles Women’s Club raised over $5,000 as part of its annual autumn auction for Charity.

The club is currently taking requests from area non-profits who have a specific need for funds. All funds are to be distributed to organizations within St. Charles Parish.

This year’s guest auctioneer was Anthony Lucia of Roussell’s Antiques and  Gifts.

“Anthony has a way of coaxing members and guests into raising their bids to benefit the community,” said SCWC spokerperson Regina Allemand.

The SCWC holds charity auctions during its active times from September through May of each year. The next auction will be the TeaCup auction, on Saturday, Mar. 15 at the Chateau Country Club in Kenner. Tickets for that event will be $40.

Since 1965, the SCWC has worked to give back to St. Charles Parish. It has grown to 177 members since that time. Anyone interested in joining or acquiring tickets to the next auction must “Like” the club’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/St-Charles-Womens-Club/192500177442245 and send a private message.
