St. Charles seniors try to catch the biggest fish

The St. Charles Council on Aging and St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation held their annual Fishing Rodeo on March 26 at the Bonnet Carre Spillway Park Pavilion in Norco.

Stephenie Boudreaux, with the Council on Aging, said that about 100 people usually attend the rodeo, but that they would like to have more.

Boudreaux said the event was a great place to spend the day and to find out what’s in store with the Council and the Department.

“We had different activities that may suit different people, not just fishing, so it’s a good day to come meet and greet,” Boudreaux said.

The event was free to St. Charles Parish residents ages 60 and older.

Fishing poles and bait were supplied, so all that residents needed to bring was their hat and chair.
