Share your home with teen & student ambassadors from around the world

SHARE!, an international exchange student, program looking for caring volunteers in the St. Charles Parish area – with or without children – to share their homes with teen ambassadors from abroad for the upcoming 2007-2008 school year.

The students are participating in the SHARE! High School Exchange Program to learn firsthand about America. These young ambassadors will return to their home countries with a newly acquired understanding of the American point of view and way of life.

The students, who arrive in August, are between the ages of 15 and 18, have been screened for academic preparedness and English proficiency and would attend either Hahnville High or Destrehan High.

They are covered by health insurance and have spending money for their own personal expenses.

They are expecting to become active members of their host family and community, helping with household chores and sharing the history and culture of their native country with their family, school and community.

Host families are asked to provide a bed, meals, a warm family environment and a willingness to share the American way of life with these young ambassadors.

Host families are also able to take a $50 per month tax deduction for each month they host these young ambassadors.
