Lynesia Preyan’s third grade class at Lakewood Elementary recently got a chance to showcase their knowledge of rocks and minerals by presenting their research projects to their peers.
Last month, the class gave research presentations on rocks or minerals. Students spent a few weeks learning about the various properties and characteristics of a wide range of rocks and minerals.
In order to demonstrate what they learned, each student researched a rock or mineral and created a display that represented that rock or mineral. In addition to creating a display, they wrote a detailed description of their rock or mineral.
Preyan’s third grade students created displays with descriptions to properly inform their fellow students about their project. School officials said the students’ research displays definitely “rocked!”
