School system wins national awards

St. Charles Parish Public Schools won nine awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s 2011 Publications and Electronic Media Contest.

The school system won three Awards of Excellence, the highest award level, for the 2010-2011 InBox and the branding of the 2010-2011 Students of the Year and Teachers of the Year programs.

Four entries received the Award of Merit: The Road to Graduation brochure, the video presentations of the students and teachers of the year programs and the Satellite Center’s Experience the Magic video, produced by and incorporating students.

Last year’s school calendar and the It’s the Law! attendance brochure won the Award of Honorable Mention.

Of the 149 entries submitted in the audiovisual category, 83 were honored.

In the publication category, 532 entries were submited, 114 entries were honored with the Award of Merit and only 71 were awarded the Award of Excellence.

Awards were given at three levels: Honorable Mention, Award of Merit and Award of Excellence.

Since 1935, the National School Public Relations Association has provided school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools worldwide.

The Association’s mission is to advance education through responsible communication.
