RPTA recognized for management excellence

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) presented the River Parishes Transit Authority (RPTA) with the 2016 Excellence in Grant Management Award. At the Louisiana Public Transit Association Annual Conference held Nov. 15 – 16 in Lake Charles, RPTA was recognized for its management of the 5307 Program. The FTA’s Section 5307 grants are urbanized area formula funds used by RPTA for capital and operating assistance.

Presenting the award on behalf of FTA were Laura Wallace, director of program management and oversight and Don Koski, director of planning and program development. Accepting the award on behalf of RPTA were Bedar Warren, RPTA board member, and Evangeline Jackson-Martin of Transdev, RPTA general manager.

The River Parishes Transit Authority (RPTA) provides general public transportation services in St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes with connections made in St. James and Jefferson Parishes.
