Keith and Connie Rodrigue of Thibodaux are happy to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kourtney Lin Rodrigue, to René Christopher Labat, son of Ray and Regina Labat of Luling.
Kourtney is a 2007 graduate of E. D. White Catholic High School. René attended Archbishop Rummel High School and also graduated in 2007. The couple met at Nicholls State University in the fall of 2007 and both graduated in May 2011. Kourtney earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and now works as a registered nurse at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center. René graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration and is employed by Riverlands Insurance Services Inc.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Linda R. Michel and the late Euclid Michel Sr. of Labadieville and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Rodrigue of Vacherie.
The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. René Champagne of Luling and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Labat Sr., also of Luling.
The couple will exchange vows during a Nuptial mass on April 5, 2013, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. Kourtney and René have plans to reside in Thibodaux once they are wed.
