Register now for parish summer camp

The St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department is now taking applications for its 2013 Inclusive Summer Day Camp.

The camp is scheduled to run from June 3 until July 11 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday for campers ages 5 through 12 and ages 5 through 19 for campers with developmental disabilities. Potential attendees should register early, as there is limited enrollment at each site.

Fees are $250 per camper. The deadline to register is May 10 and there will be a $50 late charge for applications submitted after that date.

Campsites include Ethel Schoeffner Elementary in Destrehan, Lakewood Elementary in Luling, Harry Hurst Middle School in Destrehan and Luling Elementary in Luling.

One free t-shirt is included with the camp rate and additional shirts may be purchased for $5 each. Before and after care is available for a one-time additional fee of $300 at the Lakewood and Harry Hurst sites. The fee must be paid in full prior to camp starting.

Activities will include team sports, arts and crafts, board games, music, a talent show, outdoor activities, movie time, field trips and more. Tutoring is available at the Ethel Schoeffner site; please call (504) 722-3636 for more information.

Saturday information and registration days will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on April 27 and 9 a.m. until noon on May 4 at the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Office, located at 171 Keller Street in Hahnville. T-shirts will be available for purchase on those dates.

Registration forms may also be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Office or downloaded at stcharlesparish-la.gov/recreation. Payment may be made online. For more information, call (985) 783-5090.
