R.J. Vial celebrates young authors

Conrad Allemand reads his district award-winning story “The Creature at R.J. Vial” in front of an audience of his peers and thier parents.

R. J. Vial Elementary School celebrated its up-and-coming authors at a special event for parents and students on April 30.

Over 45 students from 3rd through 6th grades were recognized for their outstanding strides in writing fiction, non-fiction and poetry.

Out of those were 10 district writing winners and two state winners.

Austin Ainsworth and Paul Adams, both 3rd grade students, won at the state level for their fiction writings.

Each student recieved a ribbon and a frame for their work.

Winners on the district level were invited to read their writing samples on stage in front of their peers.

Writing topics ranged from life lessons and family deaths to alien invasions.
