The St. Charles Humane Society is offering a special discount through Aug. 24 where all cats can be adopted for $30.
Cats are available at the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter, 921 La Cannes in Luling or PetSmart, 6851 Veterans Blvd.. in Metairie.
Jackie Boudreaux, president of the Humane Society, said there are many colors and ages of cats to select from at both locations.
“Summertime we always see increase in cat population primarily due to heat season and their not being spay or neutered,” Boudreaux said.
The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccines, rabies vaccination, de-worming, spaying or neutering, flea and tick control, and microchipping.
