IMTT St. Rose helps upstart rescue team

IMTT in St. Rose donated $2,000 to the new “East Bank Rope Rescue Team” to help purchase new equipment. The check was presented by IMTT Terminal Manager John Little and IMTT Fire Chief Andrew Vigueira.

The idea for the team came from East St. Charles Fire Chief Donald Payton and former St. Rose Fire Chief Larry Cochran, both of whom realized the need for such a team in the parish.

The East Bank team will provide high-angle and confined space rescue services to the residents and local plants throughout St. Charles Parish.

Current St. Rose Fire Chief Paul Hymel kept the ball rolling when he took office in January 2009 by contacting Little and asking him for his company’s support.

The team is headed up by East St. Charles Asst. Fire Chief Jim Chimento and is comprised of 15 East St Charles members and four St. Rose members.

The members of both East St. Charles and St. Rose Volunteer Fire Departments would like to express their sincere thanks to Little and IMTT for their generous contribution.
