Teacher Ashley Hebert’s students explore microorganisms using one of five new microscopes awarded to her Lakewood Elementary fifth-grade science class through the St. Charles Public Schools Foundation.
Hebert wrote a grant for the microscopes, as well as a microscope camera, before Christmas break in hopes of allowing her students to identify, describe and investigate microscopic items through self discovery while promoting collaborative learning through the use of small groups and class discussions.
