The Harry Hurst Runnerettes Dance Team received high honors in the Louisiana State American All -Star Dance/Drill Team Championship in Lafayette. The Hurst dance team placed high in all competitions, including being honored as the Junior High Division 3 Sweepstakes winners.
Other awards throughout the competition include first place overall in the Pom, third place in their division for Jazz competition, third place overall for Jazz competition, fourth place in officer ensemble, and fourth place in Hip Hop.
Additionally, the Runnerettes were honored with Technique awards for Jazz and Pom, as well as a choreography award for Jazz.
The Dance Team sponsors, are Hurst teachers Lauren Waguespack and Missy Rome.
