HHS senior raises nearly $2K for Humane Society

The St. Charles Humane Society received an $1,800 check as a result of a Hahnville student’s senior project. Colin Troxler coordinated a golf tournament fundraiser as part of his final project, with the proceed benefiting the Human Society.

“Colin is a role model and his hard work is a fine example to other young adults to get involved in the community activity,” Humane Society president Jackie Boudreaux said.

Boudreaux said the donation will go towards expenses associated with spaying and neutering pets, and testing them for common diseases. Approximately 80 percent of these costs are paid for through donations, said Boudreaux.
