HHS actors re-animates lovable Peanuts gang

Don’t be like Charlie Brown and miss the bus! Join the Hahnville High School Thespian Society for a two-night only special engagement of the new, revised, Broadway version of “You’re a good man Charlie Brown,” May 14 at 7 p.m. and May 17 at 3 p.m. in the HHS auditorium. This crowd pleasing musical brings America’s favorite cartoon characters to life and into your hearts.

The lessons Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang learn are as important today as they were when they were first drawn by Charles M. Schultz.

The characters live the moments of a child’s life waffling from wild optimism to utter despair, from a bright, uncertain morning to a hopeful starlit evening.

Between vignettes about lunch-time, coat hanger sculptures, commercialism, and imminent queendom, popular songs such as “My Blanket and Me,” “The Kite,” “Beethoven Day,” “My New Philosophy,” “Suppertime” and “Happiness” will surely leave you dancing in the aisles and singing along.

“You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” stars Arthur Schexnaydre as the endearingly pitiful good man Charlie Brown; Courtney Rachal as the bossy “Queen of the World” Lucy Van Pelt; Dillon Tauzin as the adorable thumb-in-mouth, blanket-carrying Linus Van Pelt; Megan Gonzales as the sassy, know-it-all Sally Brown; Richard Carbo as the misunderstood musical genius Schroeder; and Bethany Eppling as everyone’s favorite pooch, Snoopy. Heather Bergeron, Jiah Jefferson, Allison Dukes, Jordan Dang, Tabby Strength, and Tylor Tichenor round out the cast as the chorus of familiar Peanuts faces.

Tickets are $7 tickets for adults and $5 for students, and will be sold at the door.

Reservations can be made by emailing druiz1@stcharles.k12.la.us with your chosen night and number of people in your party.

All proceeds will benefit future productions by the HHS chapter of the International Thespian Society.

The production is presented by special arrangement with Tams-Whitmark Music Library, Inc.
