Hahnville students design own fashion

Hahnville High students in Melinda Rappold’s clothing class experimented with newspaper as a clothing material after learning about the fashion cycle.

Students presented “Fashion through the Ages” which was a presentation of styles beginning with the Egyptian, Greek, and Roman basic toga design to todays more modern and form fitting clothing.

In groups, one student was the “model” and the other two students were the “designers.” Students created an outfit using only newspaper and tape. The production room got hectic as ideas flew and garments and accessories were generated.

The students were proud of their creations.
