Hahnville High School FBLA students win awards, headed to national competition

Hahnville High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended State Convention in Lafayette, La. on March 24-26.

Members competed in various events, after placing in the top percentile at District Convention in Hammond in January.

There were more than 40 schools in attendance and HHS FBLA took home awards.

The following seven placed in the top four and will move to the national level in San Antonio Texas.

First place – Advertising – Dylan Guillot (senior)

Second place – Economics – Jack Stumbo (junior)

Second  place – Introduction to Business – Luke Moore (Sophomore)

Third place – Political Science – Jack Stumbo (junior)

Fourth place – Economics – Collin Barrios (Junior)

Fourth place – Impromptu Speaking – Adam Short (senior)

Fourth place – Introduction to Financial Math – Luke Moore (sophomore)

The following placed in the top 10 but will not move onto the national level:

Fifth place – Computer Problem Solving – Hunter Tracy (senior)

Sixth place – Hospitality Management Group – Tori Johnson / Jayda Verdin / Hailey Deroche (sophomores)

Seventh place – PC Help Desk – Hunter Tracy  (senior)

Seventh Place – Emerging Business Issues Group – Hayden Petit (Sophomore) and Brady Dufrene (freshman)

Eighth place – Introduction to Business Procedures – Tabatha Toney (sophomore)

10th place – Marketing – Dylan Guillot (senior) and Alexis Olivier (junior)

The club is currently discussing it’s plans to attend National Convention this summer in San Antonio, Texas.
