Gomez-Walker, Smith visit St. Rose Elementary on famous African Americans

St. Charles Parish Public Schools Superintendent Felecia Gomez-Walker and School Board member John Smith visited St. Rose Elementary as part of the students’ studies on famous African Americans.

Smith shared some of his experiences growing up as an African American male, how he overcame many obstacles and his role as a school board member. He encouraged students to continue to work hard to achieve their dreams.
