Generous donations help control pet population

The St. Charles Humane Society was able to spay or neuter 71 pets after generous donations from the Bernice Barbour, Union Pacific Railroad and Walmart Foundations.

The funds allowed the St. Charles Humane Society, founded in 1993, to offer the operations free of charge to the pets of all residents of St. Charles Parish.

Though the St. Charles Humane Society looks forward to continuing the mission, it is currently asking for more donations to continue funding the program. Those looking to donate can send a check or money order to the St. Charles Humane Society, P.O. Box 1331, Luling, La., 70070
