Gardening Girl Scouts

St. Charles Parish Girl Scouts were invited to come to plant a butterfly and hummingbird garden along Monsanto’s new nature trail. This is an annual event that has been sponsored by the Monsanto’s Wildlife Committee for several years.

The wildlife committee is currently in the process of building a nature trail near the plant picnic grounds where an area has been set aside for a butterfly and hummingbird garden.

This area was prepared with topsoil, and plants conducive to butterflies and hummingbirds were purchased.

Approximately 35 Girl Scouts arrived, and were provided with gloves, shovels and plants to create the garden.
