DHS senior receives national recognition

Destrehan High School senior Brooklyn Gillette was recently recognized as an Outstanding Participant in the 2014-2015 National Achievement scholarship program.

The National Achievement Scholarship Program identifies and recognizes high performing African-American students who perform at extraordinary levels academically.  Brooklyn scored among the top 3 percent of more than 160,000 African-Americans eligible for this award.  Her name will be referred to over 1,500 colleges and universities to be considered for scholarship.
