Murphy Cortez a native of Des Allemands married Mittie Stevens Cortez a native of Bayou Sally in Des Allemands on June 1, 1945. They moved from Des Allemands to Paradis in 1972 and have been there ever since.
They have five daughters, 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren – with three more great grandchildren on the way and the are awaiting one great-great-grandchild.
After 63 years of marriage they are more in love than the day they got married.
