Light the Night Walk is an annual event to raise funds for cures. It’s the nations night to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of patients and their families. Walkers carry illuminated balloons – white for survivors red for supporters and gols to commemorate those lives lost.

Funds raised through the Light the Night Walk support the work of hundreds of the world’s best and brightest researchers in their search for better therapies and cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Kyle’s Krewe was formed two years ago in honor of Kyle Price Bergeron, an 18-year-old Luling resident who lost his two-year battle with Leukemia on Dec. 30, 2006.

“We walk not only in honor of Kyle, but to give hope and encouragement to other families who may still be battling this disease,” said Vicki Bergeron, Kyle’s mother.

“The hope is that one day soon their will be a cure for this horrible disease.”

The waiters and waitresses at Rotolo’s will be wearing “Buy a Ballon” buttons. All donations $1 and higher will be accepted.

All contributors will be able to write their name on a paper ballon to be on display in the restaurant.

“By taking part in this event you will be giving hope and encouragement to many families who continue to fight their battle against cancer,” said Vicki.

“I hope many will join us in our efforts to help find a cure.”
