Book Review: The Forgotten

Reviewed by Alex Pittman

David Baldacci’s newest book, The Forgotten, has raised the bar for action novels. Set in the tourist-based town of Paradise, Florida, this fiction book uses modern time conspiracy to convey a plot full of unexpected twists and turns.

John Puller is a combat veteran and a special agent for the U.S. Army. His job includes investigating and solving some of the toughest crimes facing America. His newest case hit closer to home though. Puller’s aunt, a resident of Paradise, Florida, has been found dead. This stunningly beautiful Gulf Coast town allures the wealthy tourists and retirees with its pristine white beaches and the lovely weather. Puller, General Julie Carson, Mecho, and the Paradise Police force come together to watch the mystery of Paradise unfold in The Forgotten.

In my opinion, The Forgotten is the best book by Baldacci that I have read. He used a perfect combination of wit, love, and hatred so that the reader is consumed by the creative writing style used. I would definitely recommend this book and it has become one of my favorites.
