The Bayer Luling Site Emergency Response Rescue Team members participated in an outreach event at Hahnville High School working with students enrolled in the “Careers in Technical Education” (CTE) program.
These are students looking to enter the work force in crafts such as manufacturing process technicians, carpentry, instrumentation, welding, mechanics and HVAC. They demonstrated technical confined space and high angle rope rescue techniques. The students were eager to participate, and the Luling Rescue Team members enjoyed working with them on some of their core competencies such as knot tying, and use of personal protective and rescue equipment.
The event also gave Bayer team members the opportunity to engage in dialog with the students about benefits manufacturing facilities, like Bayer, bring to the local community and around the world.
