The River Region Ballet recently held open auditions for company and junior company members to dance in their 15th season. The auditions, held at Images Dance Studio, were judged by two veteran soloists of RRB, Sarah Comiskey who is also the current president of the board of directors, and Kelly Pourciau.
The dancers selected will perform in all 2009-10 programs including “The Nutcracker” and a spring concert.
Members are also active in community service projects and attend various master classes, workshops and professional performances.
To announce their 15th season, the RRB will host their annual fundraiser and presentation party Friday, June 5 at Ormond Country Club.
The 2008-09 dancers will be recognized and the new 2009-10 Company will be presented. The presentation will be followed by a cocktail party complete with food, drink, music and of course “dancing.” Anyone interested in supporting the arts in St. Charles Parish may attend by calling 504-202-7706 for tickets.
