Senior Citizens, put on your dancin’ shoes
Sheriff Greg Champagne will be holding his Annual Senior Citizens Easter Luncheon on Tuesday, April 11. All Senior Citizens of St. Charles Parish are invited to attend. It will be held at the Shriner’s Hall on Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan. Lunch will be served between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Special presentations will be handed out for the oldest male and female, along with door prizes donated by local businesses. Loving beyond the loss
The “Living and Loving Beyond the Loss” support group will meet every last Wednesday of the month at the St. Rose Regional Library at 6:30 p.m. Residents that have experienced the loss of a child or children are encouraged to attend. What really works?
Dr. Martha Hamilton will conduct a presentation on “Behavior Shaping Techniques: What really works” on April 22 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located at 522 Green Street in Thibodaux. Dr. Hamilton is a clinical psychologist who has worked with people with developmental disabilities for over 17 years. She is currently the Clinical Director of the Region III Community Support Team. Diggin’ for prize eggs
Luling United Methodist Church, on Paul Mallard Rd. next to the hospital, will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 15 at 10 a.m. All children ages 1-8 are invited to join in the fun. There will be hidden prize eggs and an Easter basket giveaway. Also, cookies and punch will be served. Please call the church office at 785-6868 with any questions.

Egg huntin’ in paradis
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Paradis will host an Easter Egg Hunt following their 10 a.m. church service on April 9. All children are welcome to attend and participate. Parents are reminded to bring an Easter basket for collecting eggs.

Here comes Peter Cotton tail
The San Francisco Plantation will host an Easter Egg Hunt on April 9 at noon. The day will have fun-filled activities for the kids including an Egg Roll contest, Egg Toss, Egg Spoon Race, Hay Rides, Sac races and a win a rabbit booth. The event will also feature local arts and crafts, face painters, strawberries, kid’s activities and great food. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance. Swap your plants at the Farmer’s Market
The German Coast Farmer’s Market will host a plant swap on April 8 at Ormond Plantation. Participants should bring established potted plants to be numbered and entered in a drawing. The swap was very successful last year and residents are encouraged to participate.

Louisiana catfish queen raffle
The Louisiana Catfish Festival is seeking young girls between the ages of 11-13 who are interested in selling raffle tickets for the title of Jr. Catfish Queen. Anyone interested should attend a sign up meeting on Monday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at St. Gertrudes Community building in Des Allemands. If unable to attend please ontact Aimee Champagne or Lydia Dempster at 785-0289. Girls are asked to bring a photo of themselves to the meeting. Also, the Louisiana Catfish Festival Baby and Youth pageant is scheduled for May 13. Ages 0 months to 10 months are encouraged to participate.

Time to celebrate G.E.D achievements
Plans are underway for the 2005 – 2006 Adult Education Graduation to be held on May 23 at Hahnville High School. Adults who have successfully passed the GED during the 2005 – 2006 school year are invited to participate in the upcoming ceremony. All interested participants should contact the Boutte Adult Learning Center at 785-1902 or the Norco Adult Learning Center at 764-8458 starting April 20 and before April 26.
