The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has no plans to restrict access in and out of the parish, saying such a move would only occur on a limited basis if a specific area receives heavy damage or flooding.
Curfew will not be implemented for Monday, Aug. 27, however anyone cruising neighborhoods is subject to being detained and questioned. Anyone who is not in the process of evacuating should remain home off the public roads. The Sheriff’s Office anticipates a dusk to dawn curfew for Tuesday, Aug. 28 as the storm passes through.
The Sheriff’s Office has activated its hurricane plan and all employee vacation has been canceled. Every deputy, including detectives and specialized divisions will be deployed on two twelve hour shifts beginning Monday afternoon.
Some patrol units will display emergency lighting for extra visibility during the night.
