Louisiana is dancing in the rain

Louisiana is getting back to its old ways – – rain, rain and more rain.

For several years, we have had drought, drought and more drought. Some blamed it on global warming.

But if heating up the atmosphere causes less water to fall, it certainly has not affected Louisiana lately. We have started off this year with a wet atmosphere.

Back in the middle of the last century, local folks automatically brought rain coats and umbrellas along with them into the outdoors even when the sun was shining because the possibility of a thunderstorm was always there. Then with the turning of the century we had one or two droughts a year then three or four.

Then in the last few months, things were back to normal hereabouts with rain clouding the atmosphere frequently. And we suspect that people here like it better. We don’t have to water our lawns. There is no water shortage as they had in the Atlanta area last year.

Mother Nature makes rain for a purpose. Maybe she will give us a breather this weekend with parades going on in St. Charles and the surrounding area. But we would welcome it back again later.

Rain is necessary for our well-being. It makes us want to dance.
