A common complaint of those without cable television service is not being able to see the slides on Channel 6. The channel’s new system offers the ability to view all current Channel 6 information slides online.
Simply log on to stcharlesparish-la.gov/channel6 and click on ‘View Slides’. There you can view all the slides in order, even during emergencies. Click on the thumbnails for a closer look.
Don’t forget, you can view the Channel 6 schedule and view video segments online at the above address, too.
Be sure to tune in for some new programming we’ve added from the Pentagon Channel. They include cooking show “Grill Sergeants,” fitness show “Fit for Duty,” “The American Veteran,” and tactical show “Recon.”

Parish president appoints training coordinator
Destrehan resident William C. Hehmeyer will fill the new role of training coordinator for St. Charles Parish.
Hehmeyer, a 30-year oil industry veteran in the areas of safety and maintenance, will report to the parish personnel director and work closely with the Office of Risk Management.
His duties will include improving the parish’s current training programs and finding avenues to make the parish’s working environment even safer.
Parish Public Works and Recreation Department employees complete maintenance work on roads, drainage infrastructure, parks and the like on a daily basis. While they do a somewhat routine job, nothing about their responsibilities and the heavy equipment they handle is to be taken lightly.
Hehmeyer will continue to ensure parish officials and department heads are doing everything they can to minimize risk to both parish employees, and by extension the taxpaying citizens of St. Charles Parish.
