Waffle House robbed at gunpoint

Waffle House in Boutte was the site of an armed robbery early Tuesday morning as three men apparently stole cash, locked restaurant employees in an office and then fled via a getaway car waiting for them.

At approximately 2:41 a.m. Tuesday, three black males entered the Waffle House, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. One of the men was armed with a black handgun and another was carrying bolt cutters. After entering the store, the armed suspect allegedly grabbed a customer sitting at the counter eating and pulled him to the ground.

The suspects then entered the restaurant’s office, took cash and locked the employees and customer in the office, according to police. They then apparently left via getaway car.
