Suspect sought in attempted robbery of Dollar General in Luling

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for information about a suspect who attempted to rob the Dollar General store Thursday (April 7) on Paul Maillard Road in Luling.

According to surveillance cameras, a black male entered the store about 9:53 p.m. pretending to make a purchase then produced a knife and cloth bag demanding money, according to the Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes.

“The cashier screamed for help at which time the suspect fled the scene,” Yoes said.

This incident is still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying the subject in the attempted armed robbery based on the camera photographs.
