Paradis man charged with indecent behavior for social media interaction with teens

Reportedly send lewd videos through messenger service

A 30-year-old Paradis man was recently arrested on a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles after allegedly making inappropriate contact over social media with two 14-year-old girls and sending obscene videos over the site’s messenger service.

Thomas Clark IV, 30, 15067 Old Spanish Trail, was booked initially after the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office learned of inappropriate comments made online to a local teen, then sending a video where he allegedly exposed his genitals to her mother through the site’s messenger service.

Police became aware of the incident after a complaint made by the girl’s mother. He was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and obscenity. The obscenity charge is linked to the video he sent, according to Cpl. James Grimaldi, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The investigation continued following his arrest. Grimaldi said the Sheriff’s Office became aware of a second incident where Clark was alleged to have messaged a separate teen on social media in December, and likewise sent an inappropriate video to the girl. He was rebooked on the charge of indecent behavior with juveniles following the discovery.

Grimaldi said police believe Clark did not know either of the two girls and had no known contact with them prior to the respective incidents, though all parties reside on the West Bank of St. Charles Parish.

Grimaldi said that how Clark came in contact with the first girl’s mother is still under investigation, as is whether Clark has had similar contact with other children.

The Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone who may have been a victim of a similar incident involving Clark to contact Detective Holly Laurent at (985) 783-1223 or (985) 783-6807.

Clark is being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on a bond of $50,000.
