Henry Friloux named River Region Chamber’s ‘Shining Star’ for 2007

Henry Friloux, Owner and President of Echo Ventures, Inc. received the River Region Chamber of Commerce 2007 Shining Star Award at its annual banquet held on January 26 at the St. James Boat Club.

This award will be presented annually to the member company or an individual member who most exemplifies the following criteria:

– Demonstrates exemplary support in assuring that Chamber goals are achieved.

– Provides valuable service to the chamber through participation on standing or special events committees for the previous fiscal year.

– Exhibits initiative and creativity in capitalizing on opportunities created by the chamber to enhance the individual or company’s business.

– Serves as an example of excellence in business or professional activities.

In making the presentation to Mr. Friloux, Penny Freeman, 2006 Shining Star offered the following remarks:

“Passing the baton has been a tradition for many years. Father to son, mother to daughter. Tonight, I have the privilege of being the one to pass the baton on to a great chamber member.

“This member is the essence of the spirit of being involved. If there is a fire, he will be the one with the water. His commitment to the chamber can not be challenged, his accomplishments speak for themselves.

“It is a honor for me to announce this years recipient of the River Region Chamber of Commerce Shining Star Award, Mr. Henry Friloux.”

This year’s winner is a member of Louisiana Association of Business and Industry, the St. Charles Parish United Way and he has served on various Boards for Southern Gas Association, Archdiocese of New Orleans School Board, WYES-TV Channel 12 New Orleans, and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Parish.

In addition, Mr. Friloux has a long line of education initiatives in working with School to Career programs throughout the region.

As Chair of the Public Policy Committee, he has successfully guided the Chamber’s Public Policy committee to ensure a consistent communication pipeline between the membership and Louisiana’s local and state legislators.

More importantly, will continue to work with this committee to produce an even more effective “results oriented” program of work for 2007.

He is always available to assist other committees volunteers and to participate with any program or project.
