In what is usually one of the hardest fought games of the season for the Hahnville Tigers and Destrehan Wildcats, this year was no contest. The Hahnville Tigers took an early lead and never looked back on their way to a 34-3 victory, a share of the District Championship and a guaranteed playoff spot.
The Hahnville Tigers were able to hold off the John Ehret Patriots with a goal line stand at the end of Friday’s game to take a 28-21 victory and a shot at the district championship this week. With Higgins defeating East St. John as well that night, Hahnville lands in a three-way tie for the district lead.
Better late than never was the theme of the Hahnville Tigers’ 25-8 victory over the Higgins Hurricanes Friday night as the Tigers trailed 8-3 going into the fourth quarter. But the team rebounded with 22 points in the last 10 minutes of the game to pick up their second district win.
It took a while for the Tiger offense to get started Friday night against the Higgins Hurricanes. But once they did, they were hard to stop, scoring 22 fourth quarter points to storm to a 25-8 victory.
