At Ashton Manor Assisted Living & Memory Care, the mindset is that an exceptional experience is a personalized experience. Everything about the community, from the environment to the amenities to the specialized care, is built entirely for and around the residents it serves.

The goal, says Ashton Manor Executive Director Stephanie Maxwell, is to provide residents of the assisted living community with a lifestyle in which they’re able to maintain their independence while also receiving individualized care and support that allows them to thrive and live their best lives.

Maxwell recently joined the Ashton Manor team at the beginning of this year, taking the reins from long-time Executive Director Jay Tipton, who had managed the community since it’s 2012 opening before leaving to be closer to his family in Houma and to lead Ashton Manor’s sister community located there, The Suites at Sugar Mill Point.

“I was drawn to Ashton Manor firstly because of their excellent reputation, but what sold me on becoming part of the community was the residents and the leadership team that make up the family I would be joining,” says Maxwell. “The community itself is very aesthetically beautiful, but it is made internally beautiful by the vibrant people that live here and their interesting, amazing personalities and life stories. Serving them and their loved ones is truly such an honor and a privilege.”

Maxwell has been in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, and she served as the Director of Community Relations at another local assisted living community nearby before joining the Ashton Manor family. She was attracted to a career serving seniors because learning about the fascinating lives they have lived has always interested her, and she feels that there is no greater joy than the gratifying feeling of helping others, brightening their day, and enhancing their wellbeing and quality of life.

Maxwell says she is very proud to be part of a community that is so skilled at providing seniors with the highest quality of personalized care coupled with the respect, kindness, and compassion that they deserve. She loves the unique southern hospitality found at Ashton Manor, and it makes her day hearing compliments from residents and their loved ones praising her team members for their friendly and loving spirits and their above and beyond commitment to the residents they serve. “I love knowing that both our residents and their loved ones feel so comfortable and welcomed here, and that they truly consider Ashton Manor to be home,” says Maxwell.

Maxwell’s favorite motto is “We are His hands and feet to serve those in need,” and she says that Ashton Manor gives her the perfect platform to do just that. “I am so happy to help successfully create an environment and lifestyle for our residents that not only looks great on the outside, but warms their hearts and fills their souls on the inside,” she says.

Maxwell is excited to welcome our new Director of Community Relations, Samantha Dufrene, from the Luling area. Dufrene’s warm and welcoming demeanor coupled with her dedication to resident satisfaction is a big part of what makes Ashton Manor truly feel like home to residents, team members, and guests.

“I am thrilled to be a part of a community that celebrates the lives of our seniors,” says Dufrene. “The programming, activities and care at Ashton Manor are second to none. It’s a joy to see our seniors living their best life!”

The Luling community consists of 60 suites and has been accredited by the Dementia Care Specialists, which is the basis of Ashton Manor’s exclusive Warchol Best Abilities Approach to care. The community was the first in the state of Louisiana to be honored with the Distinguished Provider Award, a national award that acknowledges superior resident care. The building is divided into three wings, called neighborhoods. Two of the neighborhoods are primarily for residents who are more independent in terms of assisted living, while another is for residents in need of specialized memory care.

Ashton Manor residents stay busy taking part in a robust, enriching activities program planned by the community’s full-time Activities Director, with offerings that include card games, arts and crafts, and bingo. For holidays, the building is always cheerfully and elaborately decked out with decorations handmade by the residents, and the residents are already busy planning and crafting for the upcoming holiday season taking place over the next few months. In every facet of its approach to community life, Ashton Manor showcases its deep commitment to providing its residents with a life worth celebrating each and every day.

Ashton Manor is currently accepting priority reservations. To learn more about Luling’s premier assisted living & memory care experience or to schedule a tour of the community, call 985.785.8288 or visit www.ashton-manor.com.
