New cardiovascular clinic will open in Luling

Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) is opening a freestanding, six-exam office March 1 in Luling.

Drs. Chris Paris and Owen Mogabgab will provide services at the office.

“Since opening in Luling in 2013, CIS has remained committed to offering personal, advanced care to you in our community,” Paris said. “You have welcomed me and my team, and we are committed to St. Charles Parish for the long term.”

Paris, an interventional cardiologist, previously provided care for CIS patients at St. Charles Hospital. Ochsner, who manages St. Charles Parish Hospital, did not renew CIS’ contract in February. CIS confirmed the move and has since announced the new office at 107 Maryland Drive or the corner of U.S. Highway 90.

Mogabgab is a native of New Orleans, earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, and has been working at Tulane Medical Center for the past four years. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, endovascular interventions and interventional cardiology.

The clinic will include a range of cardiovascular services including ultrasound, nuclear medicine, stress testing and a hot lab. It will be open Monday through Friday. For more information, call (985) 308-1604.

Founded by Dr. Craig Walker in 1983, CIS offers a comprehensive heart and vascular program.

CIS has a team of more than 700 members providing comprehensive cardiovascular care at 21 locations, eight of which offer telemedicine services, across Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
