LULING – St. Charles Parish will hold its 22nd annual Independence Day Celebration from 6 until 9 p.m. July 3 at the West Bank Bridge Park at 13825 River Road in Hahnville.
The event will feature a performance by New Orleans band the Topcats, a patriotic balloon-twisting clown, food and more.
The band is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., with a fireworks extravaganza to begin at 9 p.m.
A military aircraft flyover will be part of the opening ceremony, which is set to begin at 6:15 p.m.
Seven local groups will sell food and drinks at the event, to include frozen treats, lemonade, nachos, Frito pies, jambalaya, corn dogs, french fries, pulled pork sandwiches, watermelon, hamburgers, hot dogs and snoballs.Vendors will be located in the West Bank Bridge Park’s concession stand and permanent shelters.
Former Clerk of Court Charlie Oubre sat at a lunch table in the inner confines of the Clerk of Court’s office on the lower level of the St. Charles Parish courthouse. He had two days left as the Clerk of Court, a position he held for the past 33 years.
