28th Annual Sportsmen’s Show

GONZALES – The Lamar-Dixon Expo Center will play host to the Sportsmen’s Show and Festival from March 8-11. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids.

Learn about writing from an author

The St. Rose Library will host a Meet Local Author event on March 10, from 11 a.m.to 12 p.m. Farrah Rochon, one of Louisiana’s new authors, will discuss the trials and tribulations of writing for publications from a young writer’s perspective. Aspiring writers and other interested individuals are invited to share with Farrah new and insightful ideas of fictional writing. Copies of Farrah’s book, Deliver Me, will be on sale at the event.

Women leaders to honor parish judge

“Weekend in the Capitol City,” a gathering of Louisiana’s women leaders will be held March 9 and 10 in Baton Rouge. Judge Mary Ann Lemmon of St. Charles Parish will be honored for her outstanding contributions to the community and to the state.
