BOUTTE – Cajun Village Square will be holding the Art of Respect Day on Friday, April 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Art of Respect will be a day devoted to celebrating the gifts and friendship of Louisiana citizens who live with intellectual, developmental and/or physical disabilities.
Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals employees statewide support the ongoing national effort to raise the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the “R” word.
Students, schools and communities are invited to challenge everyone to think before they speak and replace the “R “ word with a different “R” word – respect. Those interested at invited to join together to show Louisiana what acceptance, inclusion, friendship, unity and respect look like through art.
