St. Charles Borromeo hosts annual festival

DESTREHAN – t. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will host its 30th annual Little Red Church Food and Fun Festival on April 30 through May 2. This year’s fair will be Super Bowl-themed, with the title of St. Charles Borromeo’s XXX Super Fest.

Father Harry Bugler with the church said that those attending could expect food, music, games and all sorts of rides. Entry into the festival is free and about 3,000 to 5,000 people attend each year. For those who are interested in rides, Lowry Brothers Amusements will be providing as many as they can fit into the site. Visitors can buy individual tickets for rides or a wristband that will be good for all rides all weekend.

The festival will be open on Friday from 6-10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Music Mania DJ will perform Friday, Bucktown Allstars will perform Saturday and The Topcats will perform Sunday.

The festival will take place in the back field of St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan.
