KILLONA – The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office will allow the general public to use the St. Charles Firing Range to shoot handguns on March 7 and 28.
The public will also get to use the facility on April 4 and 18, and May 2 and 16.
“We get mostly men, but women come also,” said Sgt. Ted Adams, who is in charge of the program.
Adams says he has received a lot of requests for the dates and expects a good turnout.
A required 30-minute safety briefing begins at 8 a.m. and noon on each day. Range hours will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
Participants must bring targets, safety glasses, hearing protection, baseball-type cap and staple gun and staples.
Call Adams at 504-329-0689 with questions. Must be 18 years of age or older.
